Last weekend fellow Meryton Press author Jessica Evans and I took part in the 2nd Annual Romance Festival hosted by the Romance Writers of America New York City Chapter (RWA/NYC). We were there to promote our debut novels: Boots & Backpacks and The Muse, respectively. Both are clever, modern interpretations of Pride and Prejudice (If I do say so myself!).

The festival was held at the Morris-Jumel Mansion, the oldest house in Manhattan. The grounds and the house itself are beautiful, and I had never been there before despite the countless school field trips I took to NYC while growing up in nearby New Jersey.

We had rain courtesy of what was left of Tropical Storm Bill. However, a little rain can’t keep romance fans or romance writers from their happy endings! So we carried on with talks, panel discussions, and author readings.
